My friend Holly is starting a new kosher pareve bakery out of her home in Metairie, Louisiana! It’s called Delish Desserts and here is how it will work: if you want to sign up to receive an email with the weekly specials, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be added to the list.
Each week, Holly will send out an email with the weekly specials (this email will usually go out on Mondays). If you’d like to place an order for any of her items, simply reply to the email by Wednesday evening and place your order. Then Holly will bake it for you, package it up and have it ready for you to pick up from her home on Friday between 11 AM and the start of Shabbat.
To get an idea of some of the delicious desserts she can make, here were the weekly specials for February 4th:
- Chocolate Cherry Cookies: $3 per dozen
- Lemon Cookies: $3 per dozen
- Superbowl Brownies (cut and decorated to look like footballs!): $6 for 10 large brownies
- King Cake: $12 for a small and $20 for a large
There is no minimum order if you order one of the weekly specials. Additionally you can order a dessert that is not on special at any time, provided you buy the whole batch (usually 40-60 cookies or a 9×13 pan of bars, depending on the recipe). Holly is also open to trying new recipes so if you ask for something she’s never baked before she’s open to researching recipes and trying out something new!
Holly will also have made-to-order birthday cakes and season treats (like King cakes, which are on special through the Mardi Gras season, and hamentashen for Purim, etc.)
So if you, or anyone you know, would like to be added to the list please let Holly know.
I can tell you first hand that Holly is an EXCELLENT baker… this past week we had one of her king cakes as well as some of her lemon cookies and they were absolutely delicious! The best thing about them is that they are homemade and kosher! Unfortunately I don’t have any photos to share at this time but one of these days I’ll post a photo of some of her delicious creations!
For now, here is Holly’s contact information:
